driving lessons blackpool resume again

With the Covid 19 restrictions lifted and following the government’s recent announcement  Golden Mile Driving School are delighted to be resuming driving lessons in Blackpool and surrounding areas. Driving lessons will resume from Monday July 6th 2020.

We want to play a vital role in ensuring we follow Government Guidelines in relation to keeping our learner drivers and our driving instructors safe. To do this, we will be applying stringent hygiene procedures.  To ensure we are all working in a safe and hygienic environment we ask you to comply with the following terms:

CANCEL YOUR DRIVING LESSON IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID 19

We will be waiving our 48 hour cancellation policy. If you have a lesson booked and you feel unwell then it's vital that you let your driving instructor know immediately. You will NOT be charged for the late cancellation of a lesson. Symptoms include : A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature) A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual) A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
Most people with corona virus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

WASH YOUR HANDS

Before your lesson begins we ask that you to wash your hands thoroughly, for at least 20 seconds using soap and water.

GREET INSTRUCTOR OUTSIDE THE CAR

Your instructor will greet you OUTSIDE the car. Every customer will be asked to declare that they are symptom-free. If you are Covid 19 symptomatic then the lesson will be terminated and you’ll be advised to follow government advice and self isolate. If you are symptom free and feeling fit and healthy then the lesson will proceed. Before you enter the car you will be asked to sanitize your hands with a hand sanitizer provided by your instructor.

TEMPERATURE CHECK

Your driving instructor may carry a non- contact digital thermometer. This is a handheld non-invasive device that can read your temperature. If your temperature is high, then the lesson will be terminated. A normal body temperature is typically around 37 degrees.

FACE MASKS

Your driving instructor may wear a face mask/face covering. You may also be asked to wear one so please have one to hand, just incase.

VEHICLE SANITARY AND HYGIENE

Before your lesson begins your instructor will thoroughly clean the interior using disinfectant wipes, sprays and gels. We will be paying particular attention to "touch points" of the car such as door handles, gear stick and steering wheel etc.

DURING THE LESSON

The windows will be kept open slightly to ensure good airflow in the vehicle. If at any point you feel unwell during the lesson you must inform your instructor immediately. We will restrict the learner the use of sharing pens and touching visual learning aids.

END OF THE LESSON

Before you exit the car we will ask you to sanitize your hands one final time.and advise you to wash your hands with soap and water after the lesson.

To ensure we are all working in a safe and virus free environment its imperative that you follow these procedures. If you fail to comply with these procedures then the driving lesson will be terminated. If you have concerns about your health and feel you might have Corona Virus then we advise you seek more information from NHS website
