Golden Mile Driving School
Terms & Conditions – Driving Lessons & Intensive Courses

By booking lessons or an intensive course with Golden Mile Driving School, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Marketing Disclaimer

Any marketing references used by Golden Mile Driving School including, but not limited to, phrases such as “Pass Your Driving Test”, “Fast Track Your Licence”, “Intensive Course”, “Crash Course”, “Pass in a Number of Days”, or similar wording are used for promotional and illustrative purposes only.

Such phrases are intended to describe the structure or potential pace of training courses and do not constitute a guarantee, promise, or assurance that a customer will pass their driving test within a specific timeframe or at all.

A driving test pass is dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, the pupil’s ability, prior experience, learning progress, preparation, and performance during the DVSA practical driving test.

Golden Mile Driving School cannot and does not guarantee that any pupil will pass their driving test, obtain a driving licence, or achieve a pass within any specified number of days or hours of training.

Golden Mile Driving School may refer to historical pass rates, customer success stories, reviews, or previous pupil results in marketing materials. These reflect past outcomes and the experiences of individual pupils. While we are proud of our track record and the success of many of our pupils, past results do not guarantee that any individual pupil will pass their driving test.

Cooling-Off Period

You have the right to cancel your course within 7 days of the booking date (cooling-off period).

If cancelled within 7 days, your deposit will be refunded.

If cancelled after 7 days, the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Rescheduling a Course

A £50 administration fee applies to reschedule a course.

Rescheduling is subject to availability.

Short-notice changes may not always be possible.

Lesson Cancellations & Missed Lessons

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed for any reason will be charged in full.

It is the pupil’s responsibility to check lesson dates and times.

Future lessons should be arranged promptly to avoid delays.

Choosing the Correct Course

It is the customer’s responsibility to select a course suitable for their current driving ability.

The instructor may adjust lesson or course structure or refuse use of the tuition vehicle for the test if the pupil has not reached a safe driving standard.

No refund will be given in this situation.

Driving Test (DVSA)

Golden Mile Driving School cannot be held responsible if the DVSA cancels, postpones, or amends a driving test at short notice.

Any replacement test arranged by the DVSA may not match the course schedule.

Driving Test Management & Customer Responsibility

With effect from 12 May 2026, Golden Mile Driving School, its instructors, employees, franchisees, or associates shall not be responsible for managing, monitoring, rearranging, cancelling, or administering DVSA practical driving test bookings on behalf of customers.

The customer remains solely responsible for:

  • Monitoring all emails, text messages, and notifications issued by the DVSA
  • Checking the status, date, time, and location of their practical driving test
  • Responding to any DVSA correspondence or changes relating to their test booking
  • Ensuring that Golden Mile Driving School is informed promptly of any changes made by the DVSA

Where the DVSA cancels, reschedules, postpones, or amends a driving test for any reason, the intensive course, lessons, or booked training period shall continue as originally scheduled and remain fully chargeable.

No refunds, discounts, credits, or transfers shall be provided due to DVSA test cancellation or rescheduling.

Golden Mile Driving School may, at its sole discretion and subject to instructor availability, attempt to accommodate a replacement or amended test date issued by the DVSA. However, this cannot be guaranteed and Golden Mile Driving School accepts no liability where the replacement test date cannot be accommodated.

Use of Vehicle for Practical Test

Golden Mile Driving School reserves the right to refuse use of the tuition vehicle for the practical test if, in the instructor’s professional opinion, the chances of passing are unrealistic.

Vehicle Unavailability on Test Day

If the tuition vehicle becomes unavailable on the day of the test due to instructor illness or mechanical failure, Golden Mile Driving School will refund the practical test fee incurred.

If the DVSA cancels the test, refunds are normally issued directly by the DVSA.

Legal Requirements

Pupils must bring a valid UK provisional driving licence, Candidates are fully responsible for ensuring they bring their valid provisional driving licence and any required documentation to the driving test centre on the day of their driving test. Failure to provide the correct documents may result in the DVSA refusing to carry out the test, and any fees or losses incurred will remain the responsibility of the candidate. Candidates must inform the instructor of any medical conditions or medication affecting driving, and meet the DVSA eyesight requirement (reading a number plate at 20 metres).

Failure to meet legal driving requirements will result in lesson cancellation without refund.

Fitness to Drive & Behaviour

Lessons will be stopped and the course terminated without refund if there is evidence of alcohol or drug use, abusive behaviour, or if the instructor believes the pupil is not legally fit to drive.

Responsibility & Liability

Golden Mile Driving School is not responsible for losses caused by lateness, misconduct, missed lessons, failure to meet legal requirements, or DVSA changes or cancellations.

Failing the Driving Test / No Guarantee of Passing

If you fail your driving test, your instructor will advise you on the most suitable next steps.

No refunds will be given on the basis that a pupil did not pass their driving test.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Golden Mile Driving School.

No verbal statements or representations shall override these Terms unless confirmed in writing.

Amendments to Terms

Golden Mile Driving School reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions where necessary. The version in place at the time of booking will apply to that booking.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

Instructor Allocation

Golden Mile Driving School will allocate an instructor based on availability and operational requirements. A specific instructor cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing prior to booking.

Lesson Timing & Breaks

During intensive courses, lessons may be scheduled over multiple hours per day.

Short comfort breaks may be taken where necessary for safety and concentration. These breaks form part of the scheduled lesson time.

The instructor may adjust lesson timings where necessary for safety, traffic conditions, weather, or pupil fatigue.

Pupil Progress & Early Termination

If at any point during a course the instructor believes that continuing training would be unsafe or that the pupil is not able to continue learning effectively, the instructor may end the lesson or course early.

This may occur due to safety concerns, severe anxiety, inability to follow instructions, or failure to meet minimum driving standards.

No refund will be given where a course is terminated for safety reasons.
